Biking
No one ever told me
this path would seem so long
Sorrento called it "close to school"
I guess we proved them wrong
Each day, it takes a little more
sometimes, it's not enough
to make it through the road ahead
some days, it seems too tough

No one ever spoke to me
of sleepless college nights
biking back from homeworking
just at the crack of light
I guess we could have slept some more
right at the gaps in class
but LoK was on tonight
and wi-fi here's so fast

No one ever told me
that bike loops were so rough
they called this school a "biking school"
then spoke of other stuff
each day we circle, round again
each day we brush with death
I'm grateful that I'm still alive
I'm glad to still draw breath

But every time I see this school
I stop to take it in
So many bikes are on the road
So many will begin
Some people bike so ****ing slow
Some people bike too fast
But on and on, we ride our bikes
From dusk to dawn and back.
